Our band at Choctaw Church of the Nazarene has released our first ever CD this September. Click below to listen to three of the songs that I wrote which appear on the CD.

That Beautiful Sound

Sing Hallelujah

Every Moment

God made us musical, so it's only natural that we sing in our times of worship. The Psalms are full of songs intended for corporate worship, and Jesus even sang a hymn at the last supper. I wonder what page that hymn was on :)

I'm excited about music in the church. Our corporate singing praises God in a way that is biblical, unifies our church, and allows us to cross cultural, economic and age differences in and out of the church. Why then, is music the source of so many problems in the church?... I think it's because singing is so important.

At Choctaw Church of the Nazarene, we were struggling with the perfect mix of musical styles while we were running out of classroom and sanctuary space. We realized that creating a new service would greatly enhance our opportunity for ministry and worship. We've modernized our worship experience in our second service and created a first, blended worship (about half hymns and half contemporary) service. Both are growing, but our modern service is growing rapidly and reaching places that our church couldn't before.
